Overview

AAC Speech & Communication is an offline-first Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) application. Your privacy is important to us. We do not sell your personal information, display third-party advertising, or track your activity across other apps or websites.

Most features work entirely offline. Creating an account and using Cloud Backup & Restore is completely optional.

Information Stored on Your Device

Unless you choose to use the optional Cloud Backup & Restore feature, all information remains stored only on your device. This includes:

• Communication boards
• Symbols and tile settings
• Uploaded photos
• Voice recordings
• App preferences

We do not read, monitor, or access your communication boards or other locally stored content.

Optional Account & Cloud Backup

If you choose to create an account, we use Google Firebase to provide secure account authentication and optional cloud backup services.

• Email Address
  Your email address is used solely to create and authenticate your account.
• Password
  Passwords are securely managed by Firebase Authentication and are never accessible to us.
• Cloud Backup Data
  When you manually perform a cloud backup, your communication boards and associated assets (such as photos and recordings) are uploaded to Firebase Cloud Storage so they can be restored on your devices.
• Data Ownership
  Your backup data belongs to you and is used only to provide the Cloud Backup & Restore feature.
• Account Deletion
  You may delete your account and associated cloud backup data at any time from the app's Settings screen. You may also contact us via email if you need assistance.

Third-Party Services

The app uses Google Firebase solely to provide optional account authentication and cloud backup services. Firebase processes only the information necessary to provide these features on our behalf.

We do not use Firebase for advertising, marketing, or user profiling.

Information We Do Not Collect

Unless you choose to use optional Cloud Backup, we do not collect or store:

• Your communication boards
• Photos
• Voice recordings
• Location information
• Contacts
• Messages
• Advertising identifiers
• Usage tracking across other apps or websites

Analytics & Tracking

We do not use advertising SDKs or tracking technologies to monitor your activity across apps or websites.

If you are using only the offline features of the app, we do not collect analytics about your usage.

In-App Purchases

Optional premium features are available through one-time In-App Purchases. Payments are processed securely by the platform from which you downloaded the app.

• Apple App Store (iOS) — Processed through your Apple ID.
• Google Play Store (Android) — Processed through your Google Account.
• Amazon Appstore — Processed through your Amazon account.

We never receive or store your payment card details, banking information, or billing address.

Device Permissions

The app requests only the permissions needed for features that you choose to use.

• Camera — Used to capture photos for custom communication tiles or scan physical communication boards.
• Photos / Media Library — Used to import images for communication boards.
• Microphone (if used) — Used only when you choose to record audio for custom tiles.

Media is never uploaded unless you explicitly include it in a manual cloud backup.

Children's Privacy

AAC Speech & Communication may be used by children under the supervision of a parent, guardian, therapist, educator, or other responsible adult.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children except where an adult chooses to create an account to use the optional Cloud Backup & Restore feature.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or request deletion of your personal information. If you would like to exercise these rights, please contact us using the email address below.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the app or applicable laws. The latest version will always be available on this page, together with the "Last Updated" date.
